10 amazing destinations for trekking in India

It can only be a weekend of binging on your choice film, or maybe a week of alcohol detox. Or perhaps you just want to spend time away from the people, take a real break and enjoy it, not to view it on Instagram but to live in reality.

If you’re looking for a little fun or want to do something other than drinking binges at weekends, here is a range of hikes to go through for a long weekend.

  1. Nag Tibba Trek, Uttarakhand

While this trek takes you to a very good height (nearly 10,000 feet), it is easy to climb and therefore ideal for first-time timers. The trek starts from either Dehradun or Mussoorie and covers oak trees, 2 campsites, and a magnificent view over the mountain peak Nag Tibba.

  1. Binsar Trek, Uttarakhand

You will immediately conclude that this is a tired weekend when you have a trek over a long weekend. Let this notion be scattered through the Binsar sanctuary to the Jageshwar trek. The path through the sanctuary of Binsar gives you a peek into lovely woods and small rivulets to end your tour.

  1. Chopta Chandrashila Trek, Uttarakhand

At the very end of this trek, you are best offered the view from various Himalayans including Nanda Devi, Chaukhamba, Trishul, etc. The best thing about this trekking. Chopta is surrounded by a splendid Oak and Deodar forest at 2680 meters in height and is a lovely trek.

  1. Kheerganga – Tosh Trek, Himachal Pradesh

The trek Kheerganga – Tosh has become very famous recently. The inclusion of hot waterfalls, rocky bridges, and pine wooded paths makes it both a hit for walking enthusiasts and beginners. This is a favorite option for weekend travelers, easier to reach than the Triund Tour.

  1. Beaskund Trek, Himachal Pradesh

At the start of Solang Nala, close to Manali, you’ll be able to walk through a glacial lake. Beas Kund is the original source of the Beas River and is situated 3,650 meters above sea level. The trek ends with a beautiful campground in the middle of a mountain. It is one of the easiest treks in the Himachal region.

  1. Bhrigu Lake Trek, Himachal Pradesh

Hot sweat springs, apple orchards, and thick deodar and pine forests – there’s all in this trek. Mai-October is the best time to go and you will also be able to immerse yourself in the life of the village when you begin your walk from the little village of Gulaba on the route from Manali to Rothang.

  1. Kareri Lake Trek, Himachal Pradesh

Kareri Lake is a glacial lake as is the trek to Beas Kund. The trek begins from Dharamshala and rests among the Dhauladhar ranges. Grazing cattle and dense woods is a commonplace visit, but nature lovers were most acquainted with this trip.

  1. Triund Trek, Himachal Pradesh

In the last few years, Triund Trip has seen a rise in popularity. It is better seen between March and May or September and December. Although the weather in the winter months is very low, snuggled with the snow is a great adventure, and nature’s panorama is worth a long trek.

  1. Dodi Tal Trek, Uttarakhand

Mythology says Lord Ganesha’s place of birth is close to Dodi Tal. Although it can or cannot, it can’t be doubted about the beauty of this untouched lake and its surroundings and it is worth this 22-kilometer trek. However, if a further trek to the ‘Darwa Pass’ is included, distance and time would obviously increase. In July and August, this trek is not accessible, so prepare.

  1. Spiti Valley Trek, Himachal Pradesh.

Spiti Valley is definitely one of the most demanding yet lovely treks in India and is home to not only picturesque scenery but also to old cloisters and majestic mountains with snow cover. Although a common trekking choice, tourists still have to be thronged, as the journey is not easy to complete.

It takes three to five days to complete all the above treks. This depends both on the atmosphere and the experience of a walker.

So choose a destination for trekking and schedule your weekend.
